1980 Allegheny County Historic Resource Survey (28) 934 5th Ave
Dublin Core
Title
1980 Allegheny County Historic Resource Survey (28) 934 5th Ave
Subject
934 Fifth Avenue — Coraopolis Historic Resource Survey, 1980
Description
Pennsylvania Historic Resource Survey form documenting the commercial/residential building at 934 Fifth Avenue in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania. Dating from approximately 1900–1919, the 2½-story row building appears to have originally had a Second Empire character, including a mansard roof that was later covered with aluminum siding. The structure retains brick walls, dormer windows with stone lintels and sills, and brick chimneys, but had undergone extensive alterations by the time of the survey. The first floor was converted to commercial use with glass tile, display windows, a recessed entrance, and storefront signage. The survey describes the building as architecturally insignificant because of the extent of its alterations, but notes that it remained a sturdy infill building in the Fifth Avenue commercial row.
