Description
Pennsylvania Historic Resource Survey form documenting Martha’s Kitchen at 940 Fifth Avenue in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania. Dating from approximately 1920–1939, the small two-story commercial building is constructed of orange brick with stone and terra-cotta trim. Architectural features include a shaped central pediment, end parapets, stone coping, terra-cotta ornamentation resembling an inverted menorah, and second-story windows with stone lintels and sills. The first-floor storefront had been altered with Permastone beneath plate-glass windows and a cloth awning. The survey describes the building as a sound infill structure contributing to the continuous commercial row along Fifth Avenue.
