Description
Pennsylvania Historic Resource Survey form documenting the VFW Keith Holmes Post #402 building at 402 Mulberry Street in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania. Dating from approximately 1920–1939, the two-story Art Deco building is constructed of red brick and clad in buff brick with smooth stone trim. The survey describes a flat roof with stone coping, glass-block infill in several window openings, banded corner treatment, and a central bay accented by geometric stone ornament. A memorial courtyard on the east side of the building is dedicated to members of the armed forces. The survey notes that, while not considered a refined architectural design, the building is a prominent element of the Fifth Avenue streetscape.
