Description
Pennsylvania Historic Resource Survey form documenting the Union National Bank / Ohio Valley Trust Company building at 935 Fifth Avenue in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania, at the corner of Fifth Avenue and Mill Street. Dating from approximately 1920–1939, the two-story Neo-Classical bank building has a limestone facade, flat roof, molded cornice with dentils, and monumental engaged Ionic columns. The frieze is inscribed “Ohio Valley Trust Company.” Additional features include tall second-story windows, a beveled corner entrance with carved stone ornament, and a full entablature with decorative bronze elements at the doorway. The survey rates the building’s integrity as excellent and identifies it as a defining architectural element of the Mill Street/Fifth Avenue corner.
