Subject
Former Bank Building, 950 Fifth Avenue — Coraopolis Historic Resource Survey, 1980
Description
Pennsylvania Historic Resource Survey form documenting the former Sabil Corp. bank building at 950 Fifth Avenue in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania, at the corner of Fifth Avenue and Mill Street. Dating from approximately 1920–1939, the two-story Classical-style building is constructed of stone and brick with wood trim. The survey notes a flat roof, corner rosettes, a signature stone facade, tall second-story window bays separated by piers, and formal entrances with transoms and paneled wood doors. Although several upper windows had been infilled with glass block, the survey states that the alterations were consistent enough that the building continued to retain the rhythm and character of its original facade. At the time of the survey, the former bank was in commercial and office use.
