Subject
Oellig Building, 1000 Fifth Avenue / 505–511 Mill Street — Coraopolis Historic Resource Survey, 1980
Description
Pennsylvania Historic Resource Survey form documenting the commercial building at 1000 Fifth Avenue and 505–511 Mill Street in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania, at the corner of Fifth Avenue and Mill Street. Dating from approximately 1920–1939, the two-story brick building features a flat roof with metal coping, second-story windows with stone sills, and first-floor commercial storefronts with glass display windows and recessed entrances. The Mill Street elevation includes a prominent stone arch and a stone nameplate reading “Oellig.” The survey describes the building as an important anchor for the commercial row, notable for its understated ornamentation and full use of the corner site, and notes its visual relationship to the Tucker Block at Fifth Avenue and Mulberry Street.
